My Progress and more artists

So I finally purchased three large canvases; two 36x40s and one 36x36. I am still contemplating how to start i.e. color choice, designs, and composition. Here are four artists:

Karin Kuhlmann- Kuhlmann names this piece "Winged" and it inspires me because she uses abstract lines to express ambiguous bird-like images and a great color balance that I would like to research for my piece. I also like the 2D and 3D aspect created by the lines and color.

Joan Mitchell- Mitchell oil painting is enticing to me because of the geometric composition and color.I like the basic use of primary colors, but it is not overwhelming. I have noticed that I like a large combination of colors, but dark values of those colors. Mitchell has also helped me decide which type and value I want to use in my piece.

Alfonso Ossorio- Ossorio was a protege of Jackson Pollock and I am inspired by his works because the piece seems more organized and closely positioned. It seems that Ossorio put more thought into the piece (one of the reasons I chose him over Pollock, Pollock is great, but too chaotic). Ossorio is chaotic, but an organized chaos that I admire.

Paul Ygartua- I love the orientation of his piece. I have noticed in my work that the designs start in a large conglomeration at the top and dissipates into smaller designs at the bottom; kinda of like a diamond shape. Ygartuas' other works are composed the same way and I also like the ambiguous yet recognizable images. The color and line work is something I will reference in my own work.
