VERY IMPORTANT-For Labels
Everyone should make a list of titles and materials/mediums for the labels so that those can get done and be ready for print and foam core application during the week of opening
updates
My glass case is giving me problems, I've tried so many glues and the base is not staying on. Hopefully I find something that works and soon. For my wax project I just keep dripping, I plan on taking it home for thanksgiving.

Final update?
I am officially finished with my work!! I completed my last drawing this week and now can start putting them into the frames.
This week's artist is from Voiron, France and she goes by the name of Sandrine Replat. She is a freelance artist who works in illustration and graphic design. Many of her designs almost have a Tim Burton theme to them with dark, fantasy, elements added.

14 days and counting....
Well, I feel good about my progress so far although I still have quite a bit left to do. it is hard to believe that we have only 2 weeks left! I have to concentrate on making very good use of my time.
Progress
I'm worried about my candle project. The wax keeps building up and I'm using white candles and it almost looks dirty... I don't know if it's because of the setup but I need feed back ASAP. The show is less than 2 weeks away! I also sanded the base of the case case again, it just hasn't been fitting together like I want it to and I need the glue to fit on in a tight fit. I'm just stressing out at this point, my mom keeps inviting people to the show so I'm getting more and more nerves!
Limee Young
Louise Bourgeois
Don't know if I would call it progress...
As it is now, I've added more songs so it extends the length of time you see each picture. Not sure if I like this. I can't figure out a way to cut the songs to keep them short without making really abrupt cuts to the music — which is not what I wanted to do anyway. I can, but I'd have to bridge the segments of music with a sound effect like a tape fast-forwarding which brings a whole new level of cheesyness to the project.
I think I would be remiss to not mention one of the first inspirations to me as far as photography goes. Obligatory or not, I've know about Ansel Adams work since I was in high school. His work at Yosemite NP is breathtaking and I've always approached images like these with a feeling of wonderment and have wanted to see these places for myself. I've studied some of his images at length and have tried to copy them when given the opportunity with some satisfaction. I do envy his use of a large format camera though. I do also like his opinion on the high demand for production as a fine artist. He is quoted as saying, "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop."

Progress
I'm just about completed with my work! I have drawn out my last drawing and now just need to add all the nice details to it then I'll be done! If I work on a timely manner I may just be done by the time the upcoming week is over. My frames have arrived and I can't wait to put them together with my work!
Since my last drawing deals with a fantasy world, I looked into an artist named Davide Pellino who does a mix of illustration, digital art, and even game illustrations. A lot of his work show details of surrealism and a solemn atmosphere.

This Week
This week has been very productive for me. On tuesday my photo seminar class helped me to narrow down my 5 images that are going in the show. I spent Wednesday and Thursday printing my final 5 images. I am happy to say they came out beautifully. All that is really left to do is frame the images. As of right now the photos are being mounted at jerry's and I will be receiving them back on November 21st. I cannot wait for yall to see the final product! From now until the show I will be working on advertisement for the show. I am going to hang posters up on Monday. Thanks again Greta for helping with the prints!
Last Week
Last week I managed to get the majority of my first painting completed but there are still areas to work on. I have already built the second canvas and I am in the process of building the third.
I have looked at Natalie Shau's artwork as inspiration. While she creates artwork of fantastical imagery, there is a sense of realism depicted.

progress
This week I've taken apart my glass case and started cleaning out all the glass to transfer into the the new case. I finished up that and am now problem solving how to attach the wooden base to the glass, I've been experimenting with different glues and my steady hand. When I'm not in the studio I'm at my house working on my wax project and figuring out the best looking copper wire holder i can make.

Update
My frames came in last week. They're in the studio and ready to start putting together. I continued to shoot this weekend. I worked with two individuals, and decided to attempt a self portrait. The idea came up from a lot of different people, and I had to bite the bullet and do it. For the time coming, I'm planning to start printing some of my final images, that I know I'll be using, in the appropriate size for the show.
Progress
In my video I now have over 200 images. It's quite an eclectic collection of things from both my past and present. I like how it covers so much and I'm fortunate to have the library to pull from. It might have been a mistake to use iMovie for this project though. It used to have some pretty good audio editing capabilities but I think Apple removed a lot of them. You used to be able to add audio transition and you used to be able to edit on the beat. Now, you really have to wrangle with it to even get near frame accurate editing in your video. I wonder how hard it would be to redo it in Premier or Final Cut. I think I have an older version of Final Cut somewhere on one of these hard drives...
One of my favorite painters is definitely Caravaggio. I think his use of chiaroscuro is masterful. I know its not very related to my project but I do enjoy looking at his work.

Progress
I am steadily alternating between working on two of my three paintings as of now. Still working out what I want to do for my third and have given myself until the end of the week to do so. All in all everything is coming together nicely.

What's left
After completing my last print I want to put into the show, I have finally started to draw out what I want my last drawing to be. Like I may have stated before, it will be my alter ego illustrated and working to also add in this fantasy universe world that I'm overlooking; so more metaphors put in.
An artist I found this week simply goes by a pen name of Noiaillustration. Their work mostly consists of drawing and illustrations of what looks like a combination of different media such as graphite and charcoal. Most of the imagery created utilizes skulls to give a metaphor of different outlooks such as pollution, death, decay, and new life.

Preview for the show
Alt Daily wants to do a preview for the show!!!! We can discuss this more on Monday. I also have sent out the press release to the pilot, veer and the mace and crown. If you have any other ideas of who we should advertise to feel free to tell me.

Progress
On Thursday I will be taking more reference pohotos so that I will be ready to start on my second painting on Sunday. I will be building the second canvas this weekend. (I intend to finish the paintings pictured by Thursday) Here is my most recent progress:
I've been looking into Jeremy Mann's watercolor-like impressionistic paintings.

Better week than the last one!
This week was definitely more productive than last week. I had to redraw, rework, and rethink 5 different projects last week. After a weekend at the beach for my birthday I was back on track. I even managed to squeeze in some drawing time while I was there. BEST drawing studio ever!
I have completed printing one edition this week. I have also started drawing on the stone for my final lithography and began the underpainting for my next large scale portrait. I plan to build the stretcher bars and stretch the final canvas this upcoming week so that I may prepare the surface to begin work on the last portrait. I feel pretty good about where I stand right now.

My current litho will have color in it. I have never printed with color and find it difficult to think of color in terms of "layers" so I spent some time this weekend researching a list of artists suggested by Ken Daley who are known for their chromolithography, i.e. Ed Munch, Toulouse Lautrec, Pierre Bonnard, Currier and Ives, and Louis Prang.

Progress
This week I worked on cleaning the base of my tree and find the right lacquer to spray on the copper so it won't tarnish. I also found a great stain to put on the base of the glass case. also while I've been working on my wax project also I was thinking about where to put it and I feel like putting it on the floor will look dirty, so hopefully I'll be able to find something large enough to set it on. I also need help finding a place to install my installation.

I have spent the majority of my hours this week working on the senior show poster and my second lithograph.

Even though everyone has seen it during class time, I've attached a photo here for reference. I appreciate all the feedback that was given from everyone during class time but I'm super excited to see what my other group mates can come up with! Even if there isn't one particular design that strikes everyone, together I'm sure we can combine strong elements from each design to create one amazing design to show off as our show poster :)
My lithograph, as seen below, is on a smart plate rather than the usual limestone material. Much easier process. I've spent my time in class this week sketching it up and transferring it onto my plate. Im scheduled to print it tomorrow morning and once I do, I can officially say that I will have another piece completed for my show series :)

In addition to these two things, I have been continuing to work on my drawings. I have eliminated one from the series, the feather one. Reason being is that I have multiple prints from my advanced printing class this past semester of a series of CMYK feathers. I have taken one of these prints and added drawings with sharpie to it, the before and after photos are pictures below. This will make three completed pieces for my show series :)

Before - relief print

After - relief print with ink drawings

Progress
Aside from continuing to shoot for my series, I have finally come to a set size for my prints. I have also found frames after a task of finding the right size for me, and have ordered them. My shooting is still going very well. I'm still walking around different areas and neighborhoods, meeting new people, and I am also meeting up with people I already know. If I continue what I'm doing, I'll have my photos picked out for my series and have time towards the end to stick strictly to framing and putting up my part of the show.
This weeks progress!
I cannot believe that there is a month left until the show!!! This week I went ahead and decided upon the final sizes of my photos for the show. I also went ahead and ordered my 5 frames from Ikea. As of this weekend I have been taking more photos. This will most likely be the final week and then it is on to the printing stages. I am also preparing the press release for monday and sending it out this week to spread the word about the show.
Update
Almost done!! My locket drawing is complete along with my skeleton hand print. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to illustrate my last drawing as far as composition and the detail but I know what I want the idea to be. As of now I'm browsing different pictures that utilizes my ideas for my projects and trying to find some inspiration so I can start drawing out concepts.
The artist I ran into doing research this week is of an illustrator named Elwira Pawlikowska who's from Otwock, Poland. She illustrates mostly architectural and fantasy images and uses a combination of mixed media and digital art.
