Progress & Artists

I've been moving a long with my tooth sculpture, I've been thinking about what was said during class on Wednesday and have been rethinking the decaying of the tooth. The best idea is to sculpt the tooth as best as I can, sometimes you don't need a deeper meaning to your art, I felt like I was going into too much thought.

Martin Puryear

Puryear works with a variety of different media but mostly he is a wood worker. I admire artists that love the medias that I don't enjoy working in, it makes me want to experiment more with different materials. Martin Puryear has awesome art work, very inspiring!

Edward Kienholz

A lot of Kienholz's artwork deals with political issues and problems that go on in the world. He takes problems and makes sure the audience hears the problem loud and clear no matter how offensive it could be.

Damian Ortega

His installations are great to look at, certainly when I am brainstorming to do one myself. They are visually appealing and very well thought out for space.

Alex Irvine

Alex Irvine really makes me think about a project idea I have, I like that his work is in the round instead of just being a mask. I told John Roth an idea of mine for a project and he mentioned that it should be in the round instead of just a mask. His work really makes me think about how I can improve my next idea!
