Alexis Rockman is an oil painter who's visual interpretation of life inspires me. Sometimes her work is realistic and sometimes her work is abstract. What I really admire about her work no matter the style is her use of color and bold representation of everything.
Man Ray
Man Ray is a very versatile means of expressing his work. Mostly Ray dabbles in surreal paintings but is also very well known for his dada artwork as well as his photography. He thinks outside of the box and his paintings especially remind me of Salvidor Dali.
Jean-Michel Basquiat
Basquiat is definitely a different kind of style from the normal. His primitive street art fights against the basic art world. He has had a number of collaborations with another one of my favorite artists, Andy Warhol and the more I look into his work the more creative and innovative it seems to get.
Barbara Kruger

A great contemporary artist who's work establishes an advertisement feel. Using graphics along with photos mostly with the same sort of style. A black and white grainy image with a bold red window and large bold fonts to to shed light on a subject Kruger feels strongly about whether or not the image has anything to do with it.
